What You'll Practice

Every session is intentionally designed to work with your nervous system — not against it.

Breathwork Sessions

Guided breathing practices that activate your parasympathetic nervous system within minutes — reducing cortisol and resetting your stress response.

Nervous System Meditations

Trauma-informed meditations designed to down-regulate a dysregulated nervous system, moving you from fight-or-flight into rest-and-digest.

Somatic Body Scans

Slow, intentional practices that help you tune into body sensations, release stored tension, and reconnect with safety in your body.

Grounding & Regulation Tools

Practical exercises you can use anywhere — at your desk, in the car, or before a big meeting — to bring your nervous system back to baseline.

Why Nervous System Practices?

Most stress management advice tells you to think differently. But stress lives in the body — in your nervous system, your muscles, your breath. When your nervous system is dysregulated, no amount of positive thinking will stick.

Lane's practices work from the bottom up — using breath, sensation, and awareness to signal safety to your brain and body. These aren't just relaxation exercises. They're evidence-based tools rooted in polyvagal theory, somatic therapy, and neuroscience.

Student Stories

What Students Are Saying

Real results from real people who practice with Lane regularly.

"Lane's meditations have become my non-negotiable morning ritual. I used to wake up already dreading the day — now I actually feel grounded before my students walk through the door. Her voice is calming and the practices are short enough that I actually do them."

Danielle R.

High School Teacher

"I was skeptical at first — meditation felt too 'woo' for me. But Lane breaks it down in such a practical way. The nervous system breathwork has genuinely changed how I handle pressure at work. I use it before high-stakes meetings and it works every time."

James T.

Software Engineer

"Working in healthcare, I carry a lot of stress home with me. Lane's somatic body scans help me decompress and actually transition out of work mode. I feel like I finally have a tool that works with my body instead of just telling me to 'think positive.'"

Priya M.

Nurse Practitioner

"I've tried so many meditation apps and nothing stuck until I found Lane's practices. They feel personal, not generic. The grounding exercises especially have been a lifesaver during stressful school mornings with my kids. I'm calmer, they're calmer — it's a win all around."

Common Questions About Stress & Nervous System Regulation

Everything you need to know about calming down, regulating, and resetting your stress response.

How do I calm down when I'm overwhelmed?

The fastest way to calm down is to work with your body, not just your thoughts. Extend your exhale — try breathing in for 4 counts and out for 8. This activates the vagus nerve and signals your brain that you're safe. Other quick tools include placing your feet flat on the floor and pressing down (grounding), splashing cold water on your face, or placing a hand on your heart and taking 3 slow breaths. These are the exact tools Lane teaches in her Practice With Me sessions.

How do I regulate my nervous system?

Nervous system regulation is a skill — one you can build with daily practice. When your nervous system is dysregulated, you may feel stuck in anxiety (hyperarousal) or numbness and shutdown (hypoarousal). Regulation practices like breathwork, somatic body scans, and trauma-informed meditation help your nervous system learn to flex between activation and rest. Consistency is key: even 5–10 minutes a day creates meaningful change over time.

How do I unstress fast?

To unstress quickly: (1) Slow your exhale — a longer exhale activates the parasympathetic 'rest and digest' state. (2) Get grounded — feel your feet on the floor, your back against the chair. (3) Name what you can see, hear, and feel — this interrupts the stress loop in your brain. (4) Hum or sigh audibly — vibration through the vagus nerve calms your system instantly. Lane's short breathwork sessions are designed to do all of this in under 10 minutes.

What does a dysregulated nervous system feel like?

A dysregulated nervous system can feel like: constant anxiety or worry, feeling on edge or easily triggered, trouble sleeping or waking with a racing mind, chronic fatigue even after rest, difficulty concentrating, frequent headaches or tension, emotional numbness or disconnection, or a sense of being 'stuck' in stress. These are signs your nervous system needs support — not more willpower.

What is the best practice for nervous system regulation?

Research supports breathwork (especially extended exhale breathing), somatic practices (body-based awareness), Yoga Nidra (non-sleep deep rest), and vagus nerve stimulation exercises as the most effective tools for nervous system regulation. Lane Kennedy's Practice With Me membership combines all of these in short, accessible daily sessions grounded in polyvagal theory and somatic therapy.
