why Is Commitment Important in Love?

Commitment is one of the most important aspects of any relationship. Without it, you cannot build a strong or long-lasting bond with someone else, which means that your love might just dissipate after some time due to a lack of commitment from either party involved.

An interesting question we often ask ourselves when considering romantic relationships involves ‘why exactly does “commitment” come into play?’ and ‘what makes this feeling so coveted by humans throughout history and even today despite society’s expectations?’

There could be many reasons but at its core essence – committing oneself fully without reservation brings forth stability within one’s self as well as externally through increased reliability.

What if it were that easy to be in love, by simply saying I choose you, would you do it?

In this episode, I’m joined by my cohost, Siobahn Neiland, a long-term recovery advocate and one of my fave gal pals that I’m lucky enough to call a friend. We talk about recommitting to love every day.

We go deep on:

  • Relations and the work they take
  • The Twelve Steps
  • Traveling while in recovery
  • Goals & Intentions
  • Her discovery and founding of OneMama.org in Uganda
